About Scrollathon
Scrollathon is a national community art project founded by artists Steven and William Ladd. Through collaborative workshops, participants of all ages and backgrounds come together to create textile scrolls, portrait murals, and storytelling projects that celebrate creativity, resilience, and connection. From schools to senior centers, museums to libraries, Scrollathon weaves together thousands of voices into a unified artistic vision. As America’s Cultural Project for the 250th Anniversary of the United States, Scrollathon will engage all 50 states, five U.S. territories, and Washington, D.C., culminating in a major exhibition at the Kennedy Center in 2026. Through art, we unite communities, share personal stories, and build a lasting legacy of creativity and hope.
