About Serenity House Oakland

Serenity House Oakland is a beacon of hope, offering a sisterhood that nurtures the well-being and economic independence of women. Our initiatives, like the Serenity Wellness and Business (SWB) program, provide a 16-week entrepreneurial journey emphasizing wellness and professional development. This unique program intertwines yoga, art, and business workshops to empower women, translating their life experiences into purposeful careers. Established in 2009, we've grown to offer a comprehensive suite of services, including recovery housing, substance-abuse treatment, and support for women affected by domestic violence and those reentering society post-incarceration. Our approach is highly individualized, addressing each woman's journey through counseling, healing groups, and case management. Success at Serenity House is tangible, with over 74% of our clients maintaining sobriety after nine months in our program, a testament to our effective model. Moreover, 60% of our staff are former clients, now guiding others towards similar transformations. We also extend our support to the broader community through our 'Sharing is Caring' outreach, providing meals and essential items to those in need. We're more than an organization; we're a community committed to fostering lasting change. As we look forward, we're excited about the opening of Sisters House for long-term housing, ensuring a continuum of care. At Serenity House Oakland, we believe in the power of unity and the strength of the women we serve. Join us in our mission to empower, heal, and inspire.
