About Siebenbürgische Rettungsriesenschnauzer

Although called "RettungsRiesenschnauzer", all humans with SAR interests and their dogs are welcomed in the group. The name represents a homage to the first SAR giants from Transylvania, Luke and Viggo, and the ambition they inspired to keep on training and lay the foundations of this society. An ambition and motivation that we hope we can pass on and inspire others, by promoting teamwork, team effort, and pleasant networking. We further aim to raise awareness about the capabilities and the importance of canine assistance in SAR operations. Through community engagement, educational courses, and public trainings, we foster a greater understanding of dogs and their contributions to humanitarian efforts. We are also dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field of canine-assisted SAR. By conducting research on the performance and effectiveness in various contexts, we contribute to the development of best practices and training methodologies that can enhance future efforts.
