About Sigma Chi - Iota Iota

Established on October 29, 1876, the Iota Iota Chapter of Sigma Chi is the fifth fraternity founded at The University of Alabama. Over the years, we have grown into a vibrant brotherhood, emphasizing leadership, academic excellence, athletic involvement, and personal development. Our chapter has been honored with many Peterson Outstanding Chapter Awards, reflecting our commitment to upholding Sigma Chi's core values of Friendship, Justice, and Learning. We are also proud to have had five Sigma Chi International Sweethearts, more than any other chapter in the fraternity's history. Through our philanthropic efforts, including the annual "Derby Days" event, we have raised significant funds for charitable causes, including the Jason Foundation and Huntsman Cancer Foundation. With over 1,500 living alumni and more than 170 active members, we continue to foster a legacy of excellence and brotherhood at the Capstone.
