About Singing With Nightingales

Singing with Nightingales (SWN) offers an extraordinary nocturnal journey where nature, music, and storytelling intertwine. Each spring, as five thousand pairs of Nightingales return to southern England from Africa, we create intimate gatherings in ancient woodlands where small groups of guests experience the legendary birds' ethereal song. Founded in 2014 by renowned folk singer, nature conservationist and author Sam Lee, SWN has welcomed over 10,000 people to our enchanted evening ceremonies. These transformative experiences combine fireside storytelling, live music, and the rare privilege of witnessing musicians duet with wild Nightingales under starlit skies. While our events have become an eagerly anticipated fixture in nature lovers' calendars, our vision extends far beyond creating magical experiences. We are building an inclusive community of nature advocates, bringing together people from all backgrounds to forge deeper connections with the natural world. Our approach to environmental advocacy is gentle yet profound, using the universality of music and storytelling to inspire conservation awareness. Collaboration flows through everything we do – from partnering with local organic food producers to working alongside international conservation organisations. We are particularly committed to making nature connection accessible to those who might otherwise face barriers to such experiences. SWN serves as both a celebration of ancient folklore and a laboratory for innovative environmental engagement through the arts. Our events consistently receive extraordinary feedback, with many guests describing their evening with us as life-changing. Join our community and be part of this unique confluence of art, nature, and gentle activism. Visit our website to learn more about our spring gatherings and year-round initiatives.
