About Skinny Tyres Ltd

Scotland’s landscapes are legendary. It was the sheer magic of cycling over Ben Lawers in Highland Perthshire that sparked a eureka moment for Scot Tares in 2009. That ride led directly to the creation of Skinny Tyres, with a simple aim: to share that sense of joy with other cyclists. Since then, Skinny Tyres has been carefully crafting supported cycling holidays for adult riders of all ages and abilities who want to experience some of Scotland’s most beautiful and remote areas. With over 15 years’ experience, our team blends deep cycling knowledge with genuine local insight to deliver expertly supported journeys. We welcome riders from all over the world, including eBike users. Our group sizes are small and our guides support you from a fully customised van, giving you the freedom to ride at your own pace while still feeling looked after. We offer five itineraries, each one scheduled to make the most of the best seasonal weather. Following repeated requests from guests, our Mull of Galloway to John O’Groats tour has been newly introduced for 2026. Our tours are half board and include on-trip and end-of-trip transfers. We’re a family-run company that values inclusivity and sustainable tourism. Alongside our guided holidays, we also offer bespoke trips and a standalone bike-and-rider transfer service for independent cyclists. Curious to see whether a Skinny Tyres trip might be right for you? We’re always happy to chat.
