About SocioEnvironmental and Education Network (SEEN), 4 Venir, Inc.

The SocioEnvironmental and Education Network (SEEN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering California's San Joaquin Valley communities through transformative science education and environmental literacy programs. Our interdisciplinary team of scientists, educators, engineers, and biologists works directly with rural disadvantaged communities facing disproportionate environmental challenges including air pollution, water contamination, and climate change impacts. We reject traditional one-way information models in favor of collaborative, community-driven approaches that build lasting capacity. CORE PROGRAMS: Environmental Education: Training adults, policymakers, and families in scientific methodology, climate science, water quality assessment, and air pollution monitoring Youth STEAM: Hands-on bilingual workshops in robotics, ecology, and climate science for K-12 students Community Research: Collaborative projects that generate actionable data for local advocacy efforts Our work addresses critical environmental health disparities in one of the nation's most agriculturally productive yet environmentally challenged regions. The San Joaquin Valley faces severe air quality issues, groundwater contamination, extreme weather events, and limited access to quality environmental education. APPROACH: We believe knowledge is power. Our methodology centers on empowering community members as partners in scientific inquiry, providing rigorous training that enables residents to document environmental hazards, interpret data, and advocate effectively for policy solutions. We bridge generational gaps, creating pathways for youth leadership while ensuring adults can make informed decisions to protect their families. Through community-driven research, evidence-based education, and advocacy capacity development, we're building a network of scientifically informed, environmentally empowered communities.
