About Soli Workshop

Soli Workshop is an Istanbul-based design company specializing in indoor lighting. Founded by architects Sinan Kaya and Figen Köseoğlu, the studio is named after, "sun" in Ancient Rome, from the ancient city of Soli Pompeiopolis in Cilicia. This background inspires Soli's approach, which combines Anatolian aesthetics with Mediterranean light. Soli Workshop is aiming to transform interiors into expressive, inviting spaces by designing lighting that combines cultural depth with modern lines. Illumination Shaped by Heritage, Refined by Technology Each piece combines tradition and innovation. The studio finds inspiration from Mediterranean aesthetics and Turkish design sensibilities, combining handcrafted textile finishes with cutting-edge technologies such as additive manufacturing, digital fabrication, and fabric-based lighting systems. This combination shapes the studio's hybrid manufacturing ethic, which blends quality and warmth. The personal touch is essential to collections such as Esenta. Artisans hand-wrap lampshades in a herringbone-patterned, high-quality cotton fabric, which creates tactile surfaces that gently filter light for a warm, exclusive ambiance. The Pico Table Lamp, one of the studio's iconic creations, displays its technological prowess. This modern version of the mushroom-shaped light is totally created by additive manufacturing, resulting in a dynamic harmony of poetic form and essential simplicity. The Balance of Boutique Quality and Commercial Reliability The integration of digital and textile craftsmanship enables small-batch, boutique workflows that minimize waste and optimize material use while ensuring commercial-grade quality and reliability. This balance makes Soli Workshop an ideal illumination partner for interior design global projects and architectural lighting showrooms. Collaboration and customization are essential to the studio's practice.
