About Sosiaalilääketieteen yhdistys ry

Sosiaalilääketieteen yhdistys on poikkitieteellinen eri ammattiryhmistä ja tieteenaloilta sekä eri paikkakunnilta tulevien yhteinen keskustelufoorumi. Yhdistys toimii Suomen sosiaalilääketieteen ja kansanterveystieteen tutkimuksen alalla tutkijoiden ja samalla myös tutkimuslaitosten yhdyssiteenä. Sosiaalilääketieteen yhdistyksen toiminnan tarkoitus on erilaisin tilaisuuksin, aloittein ja lausunnoin edistää sosiaalilääketieteen ja sen lähialojen tutkimusta ja koulutusta. Society for Social Medicine in Finland is a national interdisciplinary association for researchers and others interested in public health issues. The association's main goals are to promote research and education in social medicine and punblic health to influence health policy by arranging seminars, meetings and conferences and by publicing its own journal (Sosiaalilääketieteellinen Aikakauslehti), which contains scientific articles in Finnish or Swedish with summaries in English.
