About SoulPaws Recovery Project

Who We Are: SoulPaws Recovery Project unleashes the healing power of the human–animal connection to support individuals recovering from eating disorders, substance use disorders, and other mental health challenges. Our evidence-informed animal-assisted interventions are grounded in the neuroscience of Dr. Bruce Perry and the trauma-aware care model advanced by Dr. Patricia Flaherty-Fischette. Recovery is possible when we can regulate, relate, and reason – and animals are powerful partners in this process. What We Do: SoulPaws Healing Circles bring therapy animals, peers, and trained clinicians together in guided sessions that help participants: • Calm the nervous system and restore regulation • Connect through authentic, non-judgmental relationships • Heal by accessing higher brain functions needed for reflection and growth Each Healing Circle follows our Three Pillars Framework – Calm • Connect • Heal – based on Dr. Perry’s Sequential Engagement & Processing model. We offer: • Treatment Center Partnerships: On-site Healing Circles integrated into patient programs. • Community Healing Circles: Free sessions for individuals in recovery, no diagnosis required. • Clinician Training: Specialized training in neurobiologically informed animal-assisted therapy.
