About Spiral Journey (Work That Reconnects)

Spiral Journey: Facilitating the Work That Reconnects Spiral Journey is an international facilitator development programme rooted in the Work That Reconnects: an experiential, systems-based methodology created by Joanna Macy and colleagues to respond to the ecological and social crises of our time. We train and support facilitators who are committed to the Great Turning: the shift toward a just, life-sustaining world. Our 7-month online Facilitator Development Program (FDP) combines ecological leadership, anti-oppression work, trauma-informed practice, and embodied facilitation grounded in the Spiral framework of Gratitude, Honouring Our Pain, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes, and Going Forth. Spiral Journey is designed for educators, coaches, activists, healers, community leaders, and professionals working at the intersection of systems change, environmental justice, and inner transformation. We support facilitators to engage deeply with decolonisation, relational learning, and the cultivation of spaces that are inclusive, trauma-aware, and life-affirming. Our global faculty brings together diverse lived experiences and pedagogical lineages, offering mentorship, study circles, live webinars, and practicum support to help participants design and lead transformative experiences in their own communities. We believe that personal resilience and collective liberation are interconnected, and that facilitation is not only a skillset but a commitment to the sacred task of reconnecting people to themselves, to one another, and to the living Earth.
