As India marches ahead in its quest for development and nation building, conservation of the natural environment remains a major challenge as well as an opportunity. SCF clearly perceives crucial issues affecting nature such as biodiversity loss, deforestation, degradation of habitats, coastal erosion and species extinction, and the increasing disconnect of the rising urban population with nature. In this context, SCF endeavours to work in line with its mission, which is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set up by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and other relevant international conventions and agreements. The SCF focuses on fundamental assumptions namely ecological, social, economic, policy level and technological innovations. The SCF primarily focuses on participatory conservation of marinescapes, landscapes, climate change, threatened and endangered species. Under these broad themes, SCF envisages a holistic approach for the conservation of biodiversity of the country. For further details visit: https://the-scf.org/main/
