About Stegle Lab (DKFZ and EMBL)

The Stegle Lab uses computational methods to unravel the link between genetics, molecular patterns and disease phenotypes. We develop advanced machine learning techniques to investigate multi-omics data, with an aim to understand cause-and-effect connections. We contribute to global efforts to understand human diseases, including cancer. We promote open science and maintain open source projects to share our advances. Our interdisciplinary and international team is jointly located at German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) Heidelberg, and is connected to the vibrant local ecosystem for data science, machine learning and computational biology in Heidelberg (including ELLIS Life Heidelberg).
