About Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours

Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours was founded by America's premier historian and best-selling author Stephen E. Ambrose. Our tours are the product of 35 years of experience on the path of World War II and American history. We offer an expertise that was perfected by Dr. Ambrose and then directly handed down to the next generation of historians, who are leaders in their field and world-renowned authors. As Stephen Ambrose said, "The best way to understand history is to study the places it was made." We offer tours in Europe, the Pacific and the United States that provide an in-depth study of the subject, including WWII, WWI, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and American history. Whether visiting Omaha Beach in Normandy to pay homage to the fallen, following the path of Lewis and Clark down the Missouri River, reliving the times of Crazy Horse and Custer in the Great American West, or tromping the battlefields of the Civil War, our tours are an educational and enlightening experience. Our expert team in New Orleans provides exceptional service, taking care of all logistics for a seamless experience from the very beginning. Because of the fame of Dr. Ambrose’s books, and even more importantly, the relationships that we have built up with people over the years, our tours run smoothly. In addition to offering group tours for individuals, we also operate private tours for museum fundraisers and college alumni association travel programs as well as travel clubs and groups of families and friends. We can tailor our tour itineraries to meet the specific interests, preferences, and objectives of your organization.
