Stichting Leergeld Maastricht & Heuvelland richt zich onder het motto ‘Alle kinderen mogen meedoen’ op het voorkómen van sociale uitsluiting van kinderen uit gezinnen met minimale financiële middelen. De verregaande bezuinigingen op sociaal vlak als gevolg van de financiële crisis zullen dit toch al zorgwekkende aantal met misschien wel 10% per jaar doen groeien. Ouders of verzorgers kunnen bij Leergeld Maastricht en Heuvelland een aanvraag indienen om hun kind(eren) te laten meedoen. Meedoen kan in principe op vier verschillende gebieden: onderwijs, sport, cultuur of welzijn.
