About Stoparmy Movement

The Stoparmy Movement is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals who refuse military service on grounds of conscience. Established in 2013, we provide comprehensive support to conscientious objectors in Russia, including legal and psychological assistance, community building, and advocacy efforts. We believe that the right to conscientious objection is a fundamental human right, and we work tirelessly to protect this right for all individuals. Our core activities include: 1. Providing comprehensive legal and psychological support: We offer legal advice, representation in court, and psychological support to individuals facing conscription or prosecution for refusing military service. 2. Building a strong community: We foster a supportive network for conscientious objectors, connecting them with each other and providing a safe space for sharing experiences and finding solidarity. 3. Advocating for the rights of conscientious objectors: We actively engage in advocacy efforts, including public campaigns, lobbying, and media outreach, to promote the right to conscientious objection and challenge discriminatory policies. 4. Promoting a culture of peace: We conduct educational programmes to raise awareness about conscientious objection and promote a culture of peace and non-violence within society. Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, our work has intensified. We have expanded our support services to address the specific needs of individuals facing mobilisation and provide assistance to those fleeing the country. We are committed to ensuring that all individuals have the right to refuse to participate in war and to live in peace. The Stoparmy Movement is a grassroots organisation with a strong emphasis on solidarity and peer support. We believe that by working together, we can create a more just and peaceful world for all.
