About Sunny16 Media

At Sunny16 Media, we believe stories are the currency of connection. Based in Silver Spring, Maryland—just inside the Beltway—we bring more than 50 years of combined journalism experience to photos, video, audio, and editorial strategy that amplify impact in the nation’s capital and beyond. We are a husband-and-wife team shaped by decades in the newsroom and the field. One of us has photographed the world for 25+ years, covering communities, conflicts, and moments that define history. The other has led newsrooms as an editor and strategist, guiding coverage, shaping products, and engaging audiences across platforms. Together, we founded Sunny16 Media to merge craft and strategy: storytelling that’s beautiful and built to travel. What we do: Multimedia production — photography, video, audio, and written storytelling that captures people and their work with depth and humanity. Editorial leadership — strategy, editing, and consulting to ensure stories aren’t just produced, but positioned to resonate. DC advantage — proximity to the nation’s capital, where global and local impact intersect. Our mission is simple: make sure powerful stories don’t just get told, they get heard. Whether you’re a university highlighting students’ work in Washington, a nonprofit driving change, or a newsroom needing an experienced partner, Sunny16 Media is here to help you shine. Let’s connect—and let’s tell your story.
