About Surfrider Spirit Sessions
For 19 years, Surfrider Spirit Sessions has empowered Hawaii’s at-risk youth through mentorship, cultural education, and community connection. Our surf mentoring programs pair teens with caring adult mentors, using the ocean as a classroom to build resilience, leadership, and life skills. By blending Hawaiian culture, environmental education, and workforce readiness, we help young people gain the confidence and support they need to thrive. Hundreds of youth have found guidance, opportunity, and lifelong community through our programs. As we approach our 20th year, we welcome new mentors, volunteers, and partners to join us in this work. Together, we’re catching waves and changing lives.
