About Suspension Representation Project
SRP trains law students from five New York City law schools (NYU, Columbia, Cardozo, Fordham, and Brooklyn) to represent public school students in Superintendent's suspension hearings. Our advocacy routinely helps to shorten the length of suspensions or eliminate suspensions, helping kids stay in school. We also partner with community organizations to advocate for justice in schools. We were founded at NYU School of Law in 2007.
