About Swinging Europe - The European Swing Network

Co-funded by the Executive Agency Education, Audiovisual and Culture through the Creative Europe program of the EU, the Swinging Europe Network Project aims to contribute to the development of the Swing Music and Dance Sector in Europe. Swinging Europe Network 2 (2022 – 2025) The Swinging Europe Network consortium is being supported by the European Commission for a third consecutive project period. This time, 13 project partners from 11 European countries work together to support the Swing Dance and Music sector in Europe. The Swinging Europe Network 2 project has a threefold objective. The consortium strives to support professionals active in the swing dance and music sector – musicians, dancers, teachers, dance schools, event organisers, and content creators to stand on their feet again after the COVID19 crisis, as well as provide them with opportunities for international professional mobility. Furthermore, the project aims to increase visibility, introduce and acquaint the general public with the swing dance (lindy hop) and swing music vast history, origins, cultural heritage, iconic figures and values, and with the vibrant community active across Europe. Last but not least, the partners work to establish the Swinging Europe Network as a means for professional development through relevant interaction of professionals across Europe. In 2019, EACEA approved the second phase of the Swinging Europe project for the period 2019 -2021. This time the partnership was led by Lindy Hop Bulgaria in cooperation with Marmaduke (ES), Italian Swing Dance Society, Svingo Rojus (Lithuania) and LouisLou (BE). Swinging Europe Network project aimed at developing the European swing music and dance sector by allowing the organizations acting in the sector to increase their skills and to adopt more professional approach to the development of their businesses and the sector in general.
