About Takin Consulting

We specialise in environmental and social risk management in development projects and investments in emerging markets.   Our approach builds on an in-depth understanding and experience of applying environmental and social safeguard frameworks of multilateral development banks, including the World Bank (WB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Inter-american Development Bank (IADB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).  Our greatest asset however, is our extensive field experience. For over 13 years, we have worked on E&S safeguards at the project, jurisdiction and national levels in Asia, Africa, and Central and South America, supporting national and sub-national governments as well project developers, donors, international NGOs and the private sector. Our services include: • Project-level E&S risk management: Screening, mitigation planning, stakeholder engagement, and grievance mechanisms aligned with international standards. • ESMS design for funds and institutions: Practical E&S management systems for grant- and loan-making organisations. • E&S due diligence: Risk analysis and due diligence for carbon markets, nature-based solutions, development donnors and supply chains. • Project evaluation: Mid-term and final reviews with a focus on E&S performance and compliance. • Training & capacity building: Hands-on support to strengthen safeguards implementation.
