The African Center for Health, Climate & Gender Justice Alliance (ACHCGA) is a women-led non-governmental organization committed to amplifying African and women’s voices, in all their diversities, including indigenous peoples, vulnerable communities, and grassroots movements, to protect the planet, strengthen health systems, and advance gender justice. ACHCGA proactively supports the documentation of climate-induced Loss and Damage, climate -induced disease burdens and advocates for the timely disbursement of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD), an operating entity under the UNFCCC financial mechanism, to address escalating and irreversible climate impacts affecting vulnerable communities in developing countries. ACHCGA works with an amalgam of multi-stakeholder consortia, to contribute high-quality, impactful research at the climate, health and gender nexus.
