About The Australian Neurodivergent Parents Association
The Australian Neurodivergent Parents Association (ANPA) is a national neurodivergent-led advocacy organisation representing the perspectives of neurodivergent children, families, and communities across Australia. ANPA works at the intersection of disability rights, public policy, and lived experience. We contribute evidence, community insight, and rights-based analysis to national conversations on neurodiversity, early childhood systems, education, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Our advocacy is grounded in the principle that disabled people and their representative organisations must have a central role in shaping the policies and systems that affect them. We work to ensure that reforms affecting neurodivergent children uphold Australia’s human rights obligations and protect access to individualised, rights-based supports. ANPA engages with government inquiries, parliamentary processes, and national consultations, providing policy analysis, community perspectives, and safeguards designed to prevent foreseeable harm to children and families. Our work focuses on: • Protecting the rights and safety of neurodivergent children • Ensuring meaningful participation of Disabled People’s Organisations in policy design • Contributing rights-based analysis to disability reform debates • Elevating lived experience in national decision-making • Supporting communities to understand and respond to policy change We believe that systems work best when they are designed with the people they exist to serve. Nothing About Us Without Us.
