About The Baker Hotel and Spa

The Baker Hotel has been a landmark presence in Mineral Wells for nearly a century. Opened in 1929 as a premier wellness destination, it drew families and celebrities nationwide to the region's mineral waters, cementing Mineral Wells' reputation for health, hospitality, and restorative escapes. When the military base closed and operations ceased, the property stood dormant, its architecture and location holding unmatched potential to anchor downtown revitalization. That potential is now being activated through the largest historic hotel renovation currently underway in Texas—and among the most ambitious in the nation. The Baker Hotel and Spa restoration, with the courtyard, pool, and wellness facilities as the first phase, is a disciplined approach to transforming this proven historic asset into a modern hospitality and events destination. In just 30 days, the development team raised over $2 million in philanthropic commitments from local residents, business owners, and community leaders to kickstart the first phase. This capital reflects strong conviction in the project's ability to drive sustained guest revenue, support downtown businesses, create local jobs, and deliver reliable returns through a landmark property with built-in demand. The Baker Hotel and Spa offers equity partners a unique opportunity: a Texas icon with verified community backing, strategic location advantages, and a clear path to operational success in downtown Mineral Wells.
