About The Big Silence
The Big Silence Foundation cultivates conversations and offers resources and programs to destigmatize and change the culture around mental health. The Big Silence is 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization founded by Karena Dawn, the founder of women’s fitness phenom brand Tone It Up, who has been helping women through their fitness journeys for over a decade. Karena experienced significant trauma while growing up with a mother diagnosed with schizophrenia. She founded The Big Silence to break the silence around mental health and to offer support towards helping people to become their healthiest versions of themselves. The Big Silence Foundation activates programs and tools to support people’s mental health journey at different stages of life from children to adulthood.
