About The Center for Violence Prevention Research
The Center for Violence Prevention Research (the Center) is a federally funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit research institution founded in 2021 by Dr. Melissa Bright. The Center conducts rigorous research to identify what works to prevent violence against women and children. They increase the impact of violence prevention efforts by bridging the gap between science, practice, and community stakeholders. The Center’s work is rooted in the belief that by conducting sound scientific research and effectively disseminating their findings among community partners, they can transform the ecosystems that prevent violence, protect women and children, and save lives. The Center has a long history of collaborating with top subject matter experts, researchers, and partners in the field.
