About The Centre West Cumbria Ltd

We are a West Cumbrian charity that provides social and creative opportunities for people to connect and grow. We are based at The Centre, a community building in Ewanrigg, Maryport. Home to Coffee and Crack (a weekly 'pay what you can' lunch club) and Maryport Matters, a free 20 page quarterly community magazine designed to connect residents to services and opportunities), we also provide a range of free or low cost activities for all ages throughout the year. Our large scale events include family fun days, an annual 3 day lantern festival and parade and Christmas lunch events. We also work with partners and organisations to provide services, training opportunities, support, creative activities and much, much more! We have a range of spaces that can be rented out by businesses, other community organisations and individuals who share our values. We have a small team of staff that is supported by external contractors with specialist expertise and a growing base of volunteers. We provide relevant training for staff and volunteers. We rely on fundraising to keep The Centre open, working with a wide range of organisations, businesses and individuals from the community. Although we are based in Ewanrigg and primarily serve the residents in our immediate area, our doors are open to anyone who shares our values - everyone is welcome to join our Centre community. We have a long track record of delivering successful community led initiatives and projects that connect people of all ages, reduce social isolation and promote health & well-being. We are committed to improving the life chances of people in our communities, providing opportunities to learn, connect and grow. We want to empower our communities to discover their talents, develop their confidence and make their voices heard. If you like the sound of what we do and want to know more please check out our website, follow us on our social channels or give us a call to see how we can work together. Come and join us!
