About The Children's Museum of Southwest Louisiana
The mission of the Children’s Museum of Southwest Louisiana is to provide an educational and fun environment that encourages curiosity, creativity and social skills through hands on programs and exhibits. Our goal is to educate children through play and discovery while aiding in a child’s development and understanding the world around them and encourage a lifelong passion for the arts and sciences. This includes exhibits, workshops, and other activities for the children's benefit. Before the pandemic and this past year’s devastating hurricanes, the Children’s Museum of Southwest Louisiana was a very successful museum seeing over 40,000 visitors annually. Regional school groups visited from over 16 Louisiana parishes and Southeast Texas counties and we hosted on average 20 special art and STEM activities a month. We are currently working on our new home at Port Wonder. We are expected to open in 2024.
