About The Claremont Institute

With its mission to “to restore the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life,” the Claremont Institute has for nearly 50 years been a strong and effective leader in the movement for limited government, free markets, and a strong national defense. Founded in 1979, the Claremont Institute publishes the Claremont Review of Books, sponsors the Publius, Lincoln, John Marshall, Speechwriters, and Sheriffs Fellowships for rising conservative leaders, and administers a variety of programs on politics and constitutionalism. Most importantly, The Claremont Institute teaches, leads, litigates, and focuses on the work that must inform sound policy for a return to America’s founding, constitutional principles.
