About The Gallaher Trust

The Gallaher Trust is a registered charity that works to create jobs, develop skills and improve the lives of disadvantaged adults living in the Ballymena area. Established in 2018, The Gallaher Trust was founded after tobacco company, JTI, which had a 75-year presence in the town, donated £5 million to help support the Ballymena community. Since its inception, the Trust has already committed £1.1 million to the local community and currently supports 10 high-value projects across nine delivery partners. This support will serve to create 240 jobs, develop skills for over 700 adults and will assist 975 disadvantaged adults by 2023. It is hoped that the monies donated by JTI legacy will go towards supporting Ballymena and the surrounding areas for the next 15 years.
