Our mission is to reduce and eliminate, dramatically and permanently, the environmental damage that occurs when people dispose of consumer products that they no longer want or need. We aim to achieve ever increasing levels of sustainability; always, everywhere. Our vision is that every consumer product should be printed with a QR code that links to a central database providing information about its ‘End of Use Plan’. An End of Use Plan tells the owner/consumer of a product what to do with it when it has reached the end of its useful life. An End of Use Plan should include details about; - what materials the product is made from, - how to recover / reuse / recycle the materials that the product is made from, - if appropriate, how to disassemble the product, - which parts of the product have to be disposed of in landfill, - whether any of the materials require special disposal provisions at a specialist facility, - details of how to dispose of the packaging ...and so forth. When the owner of a product scans the QR code they are taken to a webpage that tells them exactly how to disassemble and dispose of it, and where. The information is written in plain English and follows a consistent / standard form and structure. Over time, manufacturers of consumer products will get better at designing and defining efficient end of use plans, and consumers will get better at adhering to them. And that is how we will achieve ever increasing levels of sustainability; always, everywhere.
