About The GW Equal Justice Foundation

Equal Justice Foundation (EJF) is a student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit at the George Washington University Law School (GW Law) that empowers students to pursue opportunities in the public and nonprofit sectors. As summer opportunities in these sectors are often unpaid, GW’s EJF supports public interest law students through financial stipends. Summer financial assistance allows law students to accept internships, fellowships, or clerkships with mission-driven organizations and immerse themselves in the experience without financial hardships. Support is also given to public interest law school graduates as they study for the Bar. GW’s EJF organizes fundraising events and activities to support crucial stipends because the public and nonprofit sectors provide critical legal services to under served communities across the country. GW’s EJF is helping communities at large by supporting law students’ desires to apply their legal skills in different areas of the law, including: environmental law, labor, human rights, judicial assistance, race equality, poverty law, and etc. Our Vision: For no law student to have to choose between financial stability and pursuing a career in public interest. Our Mission: To raise money for stipends and fairly distribute the funds. Additionally, to promote that a public interest law career can be realized.
