About The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden

Heralded as the first of it's kind in the UK, The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden has been exhibiting and selling sculpture in a truly unique and magical environment for over 30 years. Broadleaved plants and mature trees support, frame and enhance a changing collection of contemporary sculpture in the stunning garden that owner/creator Hannah Peschar and her husband - the award-winning landscape designer Anthony Paul created over 30 years ago. The Sculpture Garden now hosts over 200 pieces by 50 plus artists from Britain and the rest of Europe every summer season. From traditional carved stone & woods, cast & welded metals, to more contemporary materials such as glass and fired clay - every material that can be shown outside is exhibited here in a huge variety of styles and themes. Figurative, organic and abstract - there is something for everyone. New for 2016 - owner and curator Hannah Peschar has stepped back to allow a new pairing of curators to add their stamp to the Sculpture Garden. Along with Anthony Paul, curator Vikki Leedham have assembled this year's exhibition. The Sculpture Garden is proud to work with designers (both interior and landscape), commercial and public projects, private collectors and those just looking for a piece of beautiful sculpture to call their own. Transporting and placing work all over the world, The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden works with clients from start to finish. The Garden, designed by Anthony Paul, is famous in it's own right. Often described as 'controlled wildness', the grounds surrounding the 15th century cottage are anything but traditional. There are no flowering beds, no ordered planting - nothing is contrived. Paul - renewed for his use of limited pallets and bold planting groups, has introduced plants that are more at home in his childhood land of New Zealand. The overall effect transports the visitor away from the Surrey valley where the garden is located, to somewhere quite otherworldly.
