About The Haven at Skanda
The Haven at Skanda is a place of love, hope, and possibilities for rescued farm animals and people of all ages and abilities, especially children. Skanda is a working farm sanctuary that takes in some of our country's most badly abused and neglected farm animals and helps them heal, and provides life-changing experiences to people through a range of programs for kids, families, groups, and individuals. Because the animals are so beautifully able to heal from trauma and emerge whole, retaining their innocence and limitless love, Skanda provides programs to people where connection with the animals is a foundation for cultivating a more compassionate, caring community.
