The Institute of Sales Professionals was established to provide BDM's, rep's, sales managers and senior executives with an industry body to represent and support them, and to present selling not only as a worthy career path in its own right, but as a true profession. Think about this; until the ISP arrived there were no university degrees - bachelors or post-graduate, available anywhere in the world in the field of selling. Revenue is the most precious commodity to any business. And yet, nowhere in the world could the people responsible for providing that precious lifeblood, obtain higher education or receive formal recognition of their qualifications. Nor were there any globally recognised professional or ethical standards for sales people or managers. The ISP is changing all that. And in doing so, not only recognising people who sell as professionals, but also providing them with a globally recognised and transferrable designation - Chartered Sales Professionals. The ISP is setting global standards for - and professionalising, sales.
