About The Lilac Cafe & Microbakery CLG/Rising Together Training Centre

We are dedicated to creating inclusive, meaningful vocational training and employment opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities. We are a Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE) that operates a two-part business model that combines our Employment Readiness Programmes with income-generating social enterprise activities such as pop-up café events, market stalls, lilac hatch and corporate catering services. We offer a supportive, real-world environment where participants can develop practical skills, build confidence, and gain valuable workplace ex At the heart of our work is our inclusive artisan bakery and production kitchen in Abington, Murroe, Co. Limerick. Here, participants train in a real-world environment through hands-on baking, cooking, and food preparation, while developing essential workplace and life skills. Our social enterprise also includes pop-up café events, a market stall, and corporate catering services offering opportunities for meaningful engagement with the wider community. You can order catering packages from us for your next event, supporting inclusive employment in action. We are proud to be part of the local community and can be found every Friday at the Castletroy Farmers Market. Our purpose is to create inclusive employment pathways by combining the therapeutic power of baking with structured, skills-focused training. Our programmes include barista training, workplace readiness, and personal development, helping participants grow in confidence and independence while recognising their unique strengths. We are also committed to supporting the next generation of school leavers, encouraging them to see part-time paid employment as an achievable and rewarding future. Looking ahead, we are excited to open the Rising Together Training Centre in summer 2026 at the Limerick Milk Market, in collaboration with Lilac Hatch a fully inclusive, accessible training kitchen designed to expand opportunities for even more individuals.
