The Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana, Inc. is a nonprofit organization and a proud WorkReady U agency. Our mission is to improve educational skills in Southwest Louisiana and raise awareness about the far-reaching impact that literacy has on individuals and the community as a whole. We offer a range of services that help community members: Improve foundational skills in reading, writing, and math. Prepare for the HiSET exam and earn a Louisiana high school diploma. Access college-level training and prepare for skilled labor jobs. Prepare for family-sustaining careers with competitive wages. Enhance English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
