About The McLuhan Institute

The McLuhan Institute was founded in 2017 to carry on the work of Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980) and Eric McLuhan (1942-2018), a unique 'school' or tradition or way of exploring and understanding the nature and effects of huma technologies as they shape us personally and socially. Our archives and collections are one of the largest in the world, with thousands of book and documents and artifacts in a small barn-turned-library in rural Ontario. We offer speaking and consulting services, courses and workshops, aimed at sharing McLuhan methods and insights to allow people to apply these techniques to explore and understand the chaning human and media landscape
