About The Raphael Lemkin Society

The Raphael Lemkin Society is a Ukrainian NGO that brings together institutions and professionals working at the intersection of human rights and cultural heritage protection. Our mission is to advocate for legal accountability in cases of culture-based mass atrocities in Ukraine, support affected communities, and prevent such crimes in the future. Named after Raphael Lemkin—the 20th-century legal scholar who coined the term genocide—the Society serves as a platform for experts committed to upholding his legacy. We work to: • Promote a holistic, integrated approach to investigating and prosecuting crimes against culture • Advance international legal enforcement by submitting cases to the International Criminal Court and other relevant bodies • Raise global awareness of Russia’s destruction of Ukrainian cultural heritage and mobilize an international response through targeted communication and advocacy 📩 Contact us: info@lemkin.org.ua
