The Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh traces its origins back to 1735 and is widely recognised as the oldest golf club in the world. The course at Barnton is a real pleasure to play for golfers of all abilities. Situated in beautiful parkland, it is hard to imagine you’re just six miles from the heart of Edinburgh and within easy reach of Edinburgh Airport. The Clubhouse is, alongside our superb course, the real jewel in the crown of The Royal Burgess Golfing Society, and an outstanding example of Arts and Crafts architecture from the late Victorian period.
