The Sandbar is a land-locked beach bar located in beautiful downtown Lawrence, Kansas. The tropical-themed tavern opened its doors in 1989 and has become a favorite for locals, students and tourists. The Sandbar serves a variety of tropical drinks, including its famous Bahama Mamas, Shark Attacks and Dirty Bananas, and is the home of the world's first indoor hurricane.
