About The Sexual Health Equity and Empowerment Research Lab

The SHEER Lab aims to advance sexual and reproductive health equity through rigorous, interdisciplinary, community engaged research. We aim to identify and address the structural and social drivers of sexual and reproductive health inequities, particularly among medically underserved populations. By developing evidence-based biobehavioral interventions, we strive to empower individuals to achieve optimal sexual health, reproductive health, and well-being. We envision a world where every individual, has access to equitable, affirming, and evidence based sexual and reproductive health care. We envision a society where sexual and reproductive health is recognized as a fundamental human right, and where informed, empowered communities can thrive free from stigma and discrimination.
