Yet the median wage is just $10/hour, 80% turnover is normal, and 1 in 6 workers lives below the poverty line. Many live one crisis away from losing everything. The Shift Foundation exists to change that trajectory. We help restaurant and hospitality workers move from shift-to-shift survival to stable upward mobility through: • Scholarships up to $10,000/year for degrees, certifications, and skill-based training • Required mentorship from industry professionals who understand the path forward • Emergency bridge support up to $1,500 to prevent training dropout when life happens We support workers who want more—whether that means advancing into hospitality leadership or transitioning to technology, healthcare, trades, or entirely new industries.
