About The Social Justice Center

The SJC was founded to help eradicate the adverse impact of social, cultural, and political oppressions that Black women, girls, femmes, and gender-expansive folx face simply because of their race, gender identity, and sexuality. Since its inception, the SJC has assisted in the advocacy campaigns of local issues ranging from criminal justice reform, to organizing for the logistical needs of pregnant people seeking care, disseminating safe sex kits and providing transportation and after-care kits to community members. We strive to meet the social justice needs of our community through cultural enrichment activities, leadership development, coalition building, and administrative advocacy.
