About The Tranquil House Inn & 1587 Lounge

The Tranquil House Inn is an iconic boutique hotel located on the historic town of Manteo’s quaint waterfront along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The Inn features 26 stately guest rooms, an award-winning onsite lounge and restaurant, 1587 Lounge, and a premium downtown location near numerous boutique shops, restaurants, and tour providers. The Tranquil House Inn and 1587 Lounge were purchased by Carolina Resort Company and the Harrington family in late 2020. Mike and Holly Harrington were long-time residents of the Outer Banks and have fond memories of the Inn where the two were engaged. The Harrington’s intend to remain loyal to The Tranquil House Inn’s reputation of true old Outer Banks southern hospitality with a touch of salt.
