The Wilderness Golf Course opened in 2003 and features the handy work of course architect Jeff Brauer. The expertly routed course surrounds 50 acres of wetlands on the 400-acre site. Numerous wetlands and streams stretch through the course, but the course was designed so that no walking or riding bridges span the wetlands. Still a bit undiscovered, the course offers a unique, peaceful alternative, only 45 minutes from the somewhat overbuilt Houston market, where players can combine a nature walk with a challenging and enjoyable golf course. KemperSports Management, Inc. manages this facility.
