Retirement Mastery for PHYSICIANS. Allow me to share a massive upgrade to your understanding, and feelings toward, retirement and your life after medicine. Every concept comes from my 15-year, 40,000 doctor experience treating and preventing physician burnout. Your current retirement framework is almost certainly based on fear, loss, denial of mortality, and the dumbing down of this penultimate chapter of your life to a financial equation - the old “retirement is just a number” trope. Once we identify and release the typical physician head trash about retirement and you can see what's possible with a clean break from your identity as doctor, I'll show you a whole toolkit to build your Life After Medicine - with more meaning, purpose, satisfaction, and impact than you may have dreamed possible. Together we will complete your map for a life of purpose - full circle, no scary monsters. Please understand, I'm not telling you how to retire; what's right and what's wrong, what you should and should not do, "according to Dr. Drummond". Retirement is not a diagnosis and this is not a treatment plan. Everyone’s Ideal Life After Medicine is as unique as your fingerprints. What I will show you is a process to bring your definition of your ideal retirement into crystal clear focus and then build it out as your lived experience here in the limited space between the end of your making-a-living-seeing-patients phase and your death.
