About Timbavati Foundation

There is a need for an integrated landscape whereby wildlife areas and communities receive a mutual benefit from one another. The Timbavati Foundation aims to connect its wildlife communities to conservation to create a sustainable and symbiotic relationship for all living beings. The Timbavati Foundation is the community development arm of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which connects to 15 neighbouring communities that are supported through the four strong holding pillars of Education, Environment & Conservation Awareness, Social Upliftment and Health Care. The Timbavati Foundation is currently affiliated with 56 local schools & 8 focus schools that are exposed to high-quality environmental education and valuable social support. The Timbavati Foundation has also established its very own Environmental EcoPod Centre, that aims to promote environmental and conservation awareness, as well as, give access to the wildlife economy through in-field experiences and financial assistance for bursaries for further training in conservation and hospitality. When learners are not at the school, they are connected in a greater environmental education outreach program that sparks the passion and love for conservation.
