Tontitown Historical Museum resides in the historic home of the Bastianelli family, built in 1913 it has remained on it's original spot since! The museum was opened in 1986 by Charlotte and Henry Piazza as a small community museum telling the history of the Italians who founded Tontitown in 1898. A Board of Directors was formed in the early 2000's and the museum began to be opened through the summer and fall months. By 2014 the museum was open on a set schedule and since then has expanded its operating hours to Wednesday & Thursday 9am-1pm, Friday & Saturday 1pm-4pm. The museum collection consists of artifacts, photos, documents and textiles from the founding families and their descendants. The museum staff aim to rotate the collection to effectively tell new stories and highlight the history of the town as it has changed over the last 125 years.
