Tony’s Gift of Life Foundation is redefining what leadership in kidney health looks like. As the first donor-led nonprofit created for donors, recipients, and those waiting for a transplant, we’re building a new model of support—one rooted in lived experience and driven by the belief that healing extends far beyond the operating room. Our origin story is simple: a living kidney donor realized that the emotional, mental, and spiritual journey after donation had no roadmap. So we built one. While most of the transplant narrative stops at medical milestones, we made a deliberate choice to expand the conversation. We’re widening the lens and elevating the standard. Our programs focus on long-term, human-centered recovery through nature-based experiences, immersive retreats, peer connection, and advocacy shaped by the people who’ve walked this path themselves. Donors, recipients, and those waiting come to us to reconnect with their resilience, rebuild confidence, and move forward with clarity and strength. This year marks a major leap forward. We’re developing the first system to track nature-based mental health outcomes for kidney donors, a pioneering framework that establishes a new benchmark for long-term donor care and reshapes how wellbeing is measured after transplant. Because we believe nature restores. We believe community heals. And we believe that every person on the transplant path deserves support that honors the full weight and the full courage of their journey.
